At Vail Mountain School, we believe in the power of community, character, and opportunity. That’s why we are thrilled to welcome Serena and her family into our community as one of our Mountain Local Scholars for the 2025-2026 school year. Their story is one that resonates with so many in the valley—a family that arrived for a season, fell in love with the mountains, and chose to make Vail their home.
For Serena’s family, Vail Mountain School stood out not just for its strong academic foundation but also for its commitment to outdoor education, character development, and unique programming that sparks curiosity from an early age. From kindergarteners exploring robotics to students engaging in immersive learning experiences, they saw a school that aligned with their vision for education.
Thanks to the Mountain Local Scholarship, this vision is now a reality. "This scholarship is what made this dream a reality and the decision an easy one for our family,” they shared. It’s a reminder of why we remain committed to making a VMS education accessible to local families who share our passion for learning and growth.
As Serena begins her journey in kindergarten, she is most excited about meeting her Senior Buddy—an Upper School mentor who will help her navigate her new school with confidence. Her parents already picture her walking through the hallways with a newfound sense of belonging, and we can’t wait to see that confidence grow.
More than anything, Serena’s family hopes for a school experience that challenges her academically, nurtures her curiosity, and helps her grow into a kind, confident, and responsible person. We couldn’t think of a better place for her to do just that.
Welcome, Serena! We are so excited for all the adventures ahead.
Vail Mountain School has recently awarded the Imperi Scholarship to one student for the next four years and multiple Mountain Local Scholarships for the duration of their time in their current division, reinforcing its commitment to making a Vail Mountain School education accessible to families across the community.
