Coronavirus COVID-19 Update

VMS Will Continue Distance Learning Through April 24
Dear VMS Community,

As you may have heard, yesterday Governor Jared Polis ordered that all public and private schools across the state suspend in-person learning from March 23 to April 17. In accordance with the Governor's mandate, the VMS campus will now be closed through spring break with a targeted re-opening of Monday, April 27.

However, this does not mean the learning stops.  Our faculty and students have been working diligently to adapt to a new distance learning curriculum. I am so impressed by the innovation, passion, and perseverance of our faculty as well as the adaptability and engagement of our students. Thank you!

Teaching K - 12th grade students now includes:
  • Zoom and screencast videos
  • Google Hangouts: Meet & Chat
  • Discussion boards
  • Virtual faculty office hours
  • Homebase check-ins including virtual breakfast meetings
  • and more!
I believe this unique situation will allow us to grow in new ways and expand our opportunities for learning. While this is a change in routine, our mission remains the same: Develop Character; Seek Knowledge; Build Community. I am excited about the new, innovative ways we will do this together.
