Middle School Soccer Hits the Road

SCHOOL NEWS
September 16, 2014- Last Thursday, the middle school boys soccer team traveled to Colorado Academy in Denver for a match against their eighth grade team. Under perfect fall conditions, the Gore Rangers played skillfully and with grit to earn a well deserved 3-3 draw. The squad leveraged the full width of the field to advance the ball beyond their opponents and create several scoring opportunities. The defense came through in the clutch and stopped Colorado Academy from scoring what would have been a game winning goal. Coach Gordon noted, “Colorado Academy was extremely gracious. Both the school's athletic director and head of Middle school greeted the team after the game and congratulated our boys on their display of skill and sportsmanship.”

This was the first of three “away” games that the boys will play this year where, in past seasons, they’ve only traveled once per season. Road games like this are a great opportunity for the team to play other independent schools and enjoy the unique bonding that occurs on the road.
