18 Hours of Fruita

VMS School News
May 6, 2014- A team of VMS faculty (and a couple of ringers) took part in the annual 18 Hours of Fruita Race last weekend. The event, which draws mountain bikers from across the country, began at midnight on Friday and concluded at 6pm on Saturday. KC Lasher, Ross Sappenfield, Brian Counselman, Renee Hill, Sasha Bilow, Chad Dorn (former faculty) and John Halloran (husband to Maggie Pavlik) represented the Gore Rangers sporting fancy new jerseys made possibly in part by grant from Parent Partners. The VMS team competed in the 6-8 coed division fielding a team of seven riders who rode the course relay style over the 18 hour period. The Gore Ranges placed 14th among 28 teams in their division and completed 26 laps for a total of more than 156 miles. Of course, their jerseys read, "Ride on Gore Rangers!"
