Girls Soccer

History

VMS was the first high school soccer program in the Vail Valley. The program start in 1900, hosting athletes from Battle Mountain as well as VMS. The program, created by long time boys and girls soccer coach, Bob Bandoni, began to have success at the state level in the mid 2000’s. The team had state tournament appearances from 2005 - 2011. The program has had a number of athletes play at the college level, from Division III to Division I.

Team Philosophy

The philosophy of both the girls and boys programs is for our players to enjoy the process of competing, developing the skills of empathy, integrity, hard work, and to learn more about themselves and others through the game of soccer.  Our coaching staff and players work together to determine team goals and set expectations each season.  In connection with the academic standards of VMS, the soccer program is determined to create hard working, honest, respectful individuals. From the coaches perspective, the main goal of the soccer program is to give VMS student athletes an outlet to play the game they love, learn more about soccer and themselves, and have a great time together throughout the process.
