In keeping with Vail Mountain School's mission, the athletic programs at VMS provide a positive and inclusive atmosphere where participants will grow emotionally, intellectually, and physically. Athletic programs are an extension of the classroom at VMS; important characteristics and skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, integrity, and grit are ingrained through team building, practices or workouts, and games.The athletics program at VMS is designed to serve both the elite and casual athletes. If a student is interested in a sport that is not offered, we have reciprocity with local schools to allow our athletes to participate on their sports teams.

Vail Mountain School is looking for coaches for our upcoming seasons! See below for current coaching jobs available at VMS.
Winter:
Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach - Girls
Season: November 18th - February 11th, 2025 (Post Season begins 3/8-3/15)
Stipend: $3000
Practice Commitment: Monday - Friday, 4:30- 6:30pm. *Morning practice possible on Tue/Thur
Game Commitment: 17 Games including some Saturdays.
Tournament Commitment: 1 weekend
Middle School Head and Assistant Coach - Girls
Season: December 9th - February 3rd (Championship February 8th, 2025)
Stipend: $1500-$2500
Practice Commitment: Monday - Thursday, sometimes Friday, 3:15-4:15 pm
Game Commitment: 8 Games
Tournament Commitment: 1 Weekend Tournament (invite only)
JV Assistant Basketball Coach - Boys:
Season: November 18th - February 11th, 2025 (Post Season begins 3/8-3/15)
Stipend: $2500
Practice Commitment: Monday - Friday, 4:30- 6:30pm. *Morning practice possible on Tue/Thur
Game Commitment: 17 Games, including some Saturdays
Tournament Commitment: 1 Tournament
Varsity Assistant Alpine Coach - Co-Ed
Season: January - February
Stipend: $2500 with support for USA Ski Association License
Practice Commitment: Monday & Thursday 12:30-4:30
Race Commitment: TBD
