Admissions Office COVID-19 Update

The VMS Admissions Office is open and ready to help current and prospective families.  Because the current COVID-19 situation is so unique, we thought it might be helpful to provide answers to some of your most pressing questions.  If you require additional information, please don't hesitate to contact Jen Bill for Lower School admissions and Jeremy Thelen for Middle and Upper School admissions.

Will admission decisions be released as planned?

Although we initially experienced some delays, we are processing admission applications virtually and releasing admission decisions as quickly as possible.

Has VMS changed its deposit deadline?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, families who have been offered enrollment but have not paid their deposit to hold their child’s space for fall 2020 may be offered an extended deadline. Please contact us directly to discuss your situation. Jen Bill for Lower School admissions and Jeremy Thelen for Middle and Upper School admissions.

What if I am applying to VMS and can’t get report cards or teacher recommendations because my school is closed?

VMS will make every effort to find creative ways to help you fulfill these application requirements. This includes accepting non official transcripts in lieu of official records. Let us know what your challenges are and we’ll find a solution.

I haven’t had a chance to visit—how can I learn more about VMS before I decide to enroll?

We really wish we could be on campus with you to show you around! But until we can, please check out our video archive. We are working to create a virtual tour that you can view online, and encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Also, ask us about taking you on a live virtual tour of the VMS campus via Zoom!

Will the admissions office be open at all?

The VMS admission staff is working and ready to answer your questions! We will be available Monday through Friday, from 8am-4:30pm MST. Despite being unable to meet in person or receive direct phone calls, we would be delighted to receive your email in order to set up a time to connect with you by phone or Zoom.  Jeremy Thelen, Middle and Upper School Admission Director can be reached at jthelen@vms.edu and Jennifer Bill, Lower School Admission Director is at jbill@vms.edu.

Are you still accepting Kindergarten applications for fall 2020?

Yes! The VMS admission staff will still accept applications for Kindergarten students.

Are you still accepting requests for Financial Aid?

The opportunity to submit a financial aid application for “priority consideration” has passed, and awards for 2020-2021 have been disseminated. But, if you are still interested in being considered for any late stage aid, we encourage you to begin the application process and submit a financial aid application right away.
