Academics

As the only independent K-12 school in Eagle and Summit Counties, we are grateful for the freedom to teach with intention at Vail Mountain School. Our college-preparatory curriculum is rigorous and globally informed, but its strength lies in how it comes to life. Whether through outdoor education, winter hut trips, service learning, or student-designed projects, our students are constantly challenged to think critically, collaborate meaningfully, and connect what they learn to the world around them.

At Vail Mountain School, learning doesn’t live solely between the walls of a classroom. It is found on ski days, during Intraterm courses, on the trail, and in the quiet moments of reflection after shared experiences. We believe the most enduring lessons are those that are lived, not just taught.
