Enhance our existing programs and develop new ones that benefit both the wider community and our students by maximizing our location and strengthening opportunities for civic engagement and service.  

Highlights

• Expand on existing and develop new unique-to-Vail Mountain School programs and workshops that utilize available campus space during off-peak times such as summer camps, weekend workshops, and evening classes.
• Involve students in cultivating partnerships with local businesses, civic and educational institutions, and non-profit organizations for the benefit of the community and student experience. 
• Host mission-aligned events, conferences, and seminars on campus to increase visitation, showcase the school, and generate revenue.
• Become a leading community destination for academic, athletic, environmental, and leadership endeavors.

 

Enhance Transportation Systems

Align internal and regional transportation solutions to remove geographical access barriers, increase the diversities represented within our school community, and model environmental stewardship.

Highlights

• Assess transportation barriers faced by current and potential students by surveying families, staff, and community stakeholders.
• Research existing transportation solutions and best practices in similar geographic regions to identify viable options for an aligned, valley-wide transportation system.
• Explore partnerships with local transportation agencies, schools, and community organizations to provide collaborative solutions and potential funding opportunities.
• Involve students in seeking solutions to this real-world ethical and environmental challenge.

 

Broaden Local Reach

Explore opportunities and additional locations to expand the age levels served by a Vail Mountain School education, reflecting the needs of our diverse local community. 

Highlights

• Engage internal and external stakeholders, including students, to gather input and feedback for additional locations and mission-aligned programs to serve age groups not currently reached by Vail Mountain School.
• Explore options to fund academic, experiential, environmental, and leadership programs in new markets such as grants, donations, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
• Consider piloting small-scale pre-K and post-graduate programs at the current campus to test demand, curriculum, and operational logistics, gathering feedback for future expansion.
