At Vail Mountain School, we believe character is shaped through meaningful relationships, and our intentionally designed cross-age interactions are at the heart of that work. From hallway conversations to cherished traditions like the Senior/Kindergarten buddy program, these daily moments foster leadership, empathy, and connection, helping every student feel seen, known, and valued within our community.

Snow Sports Athlete Program
VMS supports competitive winter snow sports athletes in our Lower, Middle, and Upper School divisions through a partnership with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV). We provide academic support and flexible scheduling to help students balance athletic and academic commitments. Our program has accommodated FIS-level skiers, and many alumni have gone on to compete at the highest levels, including several on the U.S. National Team and four currently on the U.S. Alpine Ski Team.
